Biography

Agnieszka Trzeciakiewicz joined the School for Business and Society in 2022 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Before joining University of York, she worked as a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Hull.


Agnieszka has a PhD in Finance, MSc in Financial Management, BA in Business and Financial Management from the University of Hull, and a ‘Licencjat’ degree in Banking and Finance from Kozminski University (Warsaw, Poland).

Research

Overview

Agnieszka's research expertise lies in the field of corporate finance and related environmental, social and governance issues (ESG).

Her research was recognised by academia as well as industry. She received a full scholarship for her PhD in Finance from the University of Hull and research funding from the British Academy (Leverhulme Trust Small Research Grants). Agnieszka has published in leading international journals such as the European Journal of Finance, and Review of Behavioral Finance and her publications received media attention from Bloomberg (Stakeholders Get a Committee), and Columbia Law School Blog (Are CEOs Encouraged to Take Too Much Risk?, Can Excess CEO Confidence Increase Risk of Corporate Failure? ). Agnieszka’s latest research projects are available on SSRN.

She is interested in supervising PhD students in corporate finance.
