What is work equipment?

Work equipment means any machinery, appliance, apparatus, tool or installation (such as a series of machines connected together) for use at work including research and teaching.  It includes basic hand equipment such as pipettes, hammers and knives, other equipment such as ladders, to more complex equipment such as workshop machinery, autoclaves, microscopes, safety cabinets, chromatography and lifting equipment.
