Anthony Robson (Oboe and recorder)

Anthony Robson was Principal Oboe of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for 23 years and of Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique having been previously Principal of the English Baroque Soloists for 8 years and guest principal with most of the English period instrument ensembles. He has been Principal Oboe of Yorkshire Baroque Soloists since 1989.

A former student of the Royal Academy of Music, London, he holds a fellowship of that institution (FRAM.) He has previously taught at all the London Conservatoires and continues a long-standing relationship with the RNCM in Manchester.

Anthony continues to enjoy a long and fulfilling career as an oboist, recorder player and teacher and is committed to bringing to younger generations his 40 years experience in the music profession.

A proud Yorkshireman, when not playing and teaching, he enjoys reading, cooking and walking the Yorkshire moors with his two French Bulldogs.
