These four calls illustrate the acoustic convergence reported by the researchers.

In 2010, Frek (a Dutch chimp) has very high pitched grunts (Sound file 1) compared to Lucy (an Edinburgh chimp, Sound file 2). However, by 2013, Frek (Sound file 3) and Lucy (Sound file 4) have become much more similar.
