York Annual Alumni Reunion Weekend 2011

York Annual Alumni Reunion Weekend 2011

The University’s global alumni community is growing, with almost 80,000 graduates in over 130 countries. We are proud that our graduates’ achievements continue to have a significant impact on society throughout the world.

This year’s Annual Alumni Reunion Weekend, scheduled for 6-8 May 2011, is an ideal opportunity to celebrate your time at York, reconnect with friends, revisit familiar parts of the campus, and explore the University’s new developments. The first phase of a £750m campus expansion was recently completed, York is now one of only a handful of UK universities ranked in the world top 100, and we were recently awarded the 2010 Times Higher Education University of the Year.

All alumni are encouraged to attend. There is an exciting range of events and two types of ticket are available, so that you can tailor the weekend’s activities to suit your own schedule in York.

A black tie dinner will take place in Derwent on the Saturday and there are opportunities to relax on campus, meet current students, tour new facilities, and enjoy events in town.  Alumna Baroness Genista McIntosh will host a debate in the University’s new theatre, featuring Nicholas Watt (chief political correspondent at the Guardian) and Steve Richards (chief political commentator at The Independent) - also York alumni.

Would you like to help?

Please contact Nik Miller (nik.miller@york.ac.uk), Alumni Engagement Manager, if you would like to help plan and promote the weekend, or to contact fellow alumni to coordinate a reunion during the weekend based on graduating year, college or department.
