Scientific Symposium Celebrating Diversity in the Chemical Sciences

The Department of Chemistry is celebrating 10 years of Athena SWAN Gold this year.

This scientific symposium will mark the occasion with a keynote lecture from Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi of Stanford University.

The symposium will feature talks from a diverse range of speakers, from early career researchers onwards.

Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi, Stanford University
Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi is the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Chemical & Systems Biology and Radiology (by courtesy) at Stanford University, and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She is considered one of the foremost multidisciplinary scientists of her generation.

Prof. David Haddleton, Warwick University
The Haddleton research group currently focuses on controlled polymerisation to give macromoelcules of designed, desired and targeted structure for biosciences and materials science. David was an undergraduate and postgraduate student in Chemistry at York, having completed his PhD with Robin Perutz.  He supports diversity in science and is one of the Royal Society's "Parent-Carer" Scientists.
