1. Managing exam stress

Have you seen our seven tips for study and exam success? With exams beginning for many, find out the good study habits that will ensure you perform to the best of your ability. It’s perfectly normal to feel stressed in the lead up to or during an exam - it can actually be of benefit - but if things are getting a bit too much, read our advice on managing exam stress to help you regain your balance.

For ways to make the best use of the Library during your revision and exams, see the guidance on the Library web pages.

2. Addressing loneliness

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week focuses on the impact of loneliness. Loneliness is something that most of us will feel at some point in our lives, but we know that certain factors can put students at a higher risk of loneliness than others. Read the Mental Health Foundation Student Guide to Loneliness to explore the practical steps we can take to address it. You can also read our advice on addressing loneliness and discover the various opportunities to get involved with student life, including signing up for Student Connect.

3. How to have successful dissertation supervisor meetings

In order to get the most out of your supervisor meetings, it’s best to be prepared for them. In our workshop on Tuesday 10 May, you will learn about the role of your dissertation supervisor - what you can expect of them and what they will expect of you. We will share ideas on how to build and maintain a positive working relationship and how to make sure your supervisor meetings are useful, positive experiences for everyone. Browse all academic skills workshops and book your place.

4. Help shape our new Student Centre

Planning has begun for a new Student Centre on campus, a place where all students can relax, socialise, eat and study as well as easily access any help and support you may need. Do you have an opinion on what it should look and feel like? We have launched a portal for you to see current plans and to give your feedback. Find out more about the new Student Centre.

5. Flexible work opportunities for Autumn Term

UoY Commercial Services are looking for people to work part time in our campus cafes, restaurants and Nisa stores from September. The roles are on a casual basis, around your University lectures and commitments. Sign up to the UoY Commercial Services casual job mailing list to be notified when a position becomes available.
