Studying on campus may help your motivation over the summer and there’s lots of study space available, with over over 1,000 single-and-group study spaces across the Library and other University buildings. The Library is open from 8am until midnight so you can study at a time to suit you. Find out more about study spaces on campus.

2. Write better

Working on your dissertation and want to develop your writing skills? Come to a collaborative workshop on Wednesday 6 July where, through reading the writing of others, you can learn to critique your own writing and develop valuable self-editing and proofreading skills. Book your place on the ‘Write better through collaboration’ workshop. And don’t forget that The Writing Centre remains open throughout summer. Book a one-to-one Writing Centre appointment and let us help you through your dissertation journey.

3. Recognise your skills and experience

Applications for the York Award are now open for postgraduates. The York Award is a formal award of the University that recognises personal and professional development within and outside your programme of study and demonstrates to employers that you have taken a proactive approach to life at university. July is Disability Pride Month, which is dedicated to celebrating inclusivity, raising awareness and highlighting the voices of people with disabilities. To celebrate, we're working with members of our community to explore the realities of living with a disability at York. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for updates throughout the month, and to hear from our dedicated representatives. Find out more about our support for students with a disability.
