In order to make sure we can carry on with all events and activities we have planned for Spring Term, we need everyone to do their bit. Remember: get your booster, test regularly, and wear a face covering in communal areas and learning and teaching spaces.

1. Student Connect returns

Student Connect relaunches for Spring Term to match you with other students from your course or college so that you can make new connections. Whether you make a new friend, discover another part of campus, or go to a different cafe, this is a great opportunity to expand your uni network. Sign up for Student Connect now.

2. Want to learn a new language or improve your language skills?

Languages for All Spring Term short courses are open for registration. Introduce yourself to Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or Russian - or develop confidence in French, German, Italian or Spanish. Sign up for a Languages for All short course before Tuesday 18 January and claim your student discount.

3. Job Opportunity: Be an online mentor

Do you have excellent social skills and a welcoming manner? We have students from various countries all over the world taking online short courses with us and Global Opportunities are looking for students to join the team as paid mentors to provide online social events for them. Find out more about the mentor role and apply before Friday 14 January.

4. Make an impact on climate change

Carbon Literacy Training highlights the need for substantial change and empowers you to make an impact in your community, university, place of worship, or another setting, and also supports your professional development. Sign up for Carbon Literacy Training this term.

5. Find out about York research

Join us at our popular showcase event on Wednesday 12 January to find out more about York’s research in bite-size 15 minute talks. Subjects this year include plastic pollution, mental health resilience, robots in space, and coding skills for musicians. There are 16 talks throughout the day split into four sessions.
