Undertaking Clinical Trials in Trauma and Orthopaedics (20 and 21 November)

Speaker(s): Presenters will include Professor David Torgerson, Director of YTU; Professor Catherine Hewitt, Senior Statistican; Dr Catriona McDaid, Senior Research Fellow; Professor Amar Rangan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and other key members of York Trials Unit who have been involved in serveral orthopaedic trials

The programme for this event will focus specifically on issues relevant to randomised controlled trials in trauma and orthopaedics and speakers will draw on relevant examples in this field where possible.

By attending this event you will gain:

  • a mixture of lectures and workshop activities
  • an understanding of the design and analysis of randomised controlled trials
  • an overview of planning, costing and delivery of a trial
  • planning public involvement in grant applications and trials
  • the opportunity to network with colleagues
  • an opportunity to talk to experienced trialists and methodologists and get feedback on your research ideas.

The cost for attending one day is £45 and for attending both days is £90. Accommodation is not provided. There will be a conference dinner on the evening of Monday 20 November at a local restaurant at a cost of £25 per person.
