A day in the life of a Architect, Conservation Architect, Director in the United Kingdom

Architect and Conservation Architect

What I do

I am an architect and an accredited conservation architect.

Much of my work involves traditional building repair and the alteration of historic buildings or sites, these include private homes, country houses, museums, civic buildings and churches.

I am a member of the British Standards Institute Committee B/560 for the Conservation of tangible cultural heritage. I was UK representative in drafting BS EN 16096:2012 Standard for the condition survey of historic buildings and a member of the drafting panel for BS 7913:2013 A Guide to the principles of the conservation of historic buildings.

What I like most

Having a varied workload of interesting buildings.
