A day in the life of a Trainee Solicitor in the United Kingdom

The recruitment process

The recruitment process for my current job involved completing an application form followed by an interview. Successful candidates were then invited to a second interview.

My advice about working in my industry

I would certainly encourage York students to not just think that the UK sector is the be all and end all. The offshore market provides the same level of work.

What I do

I am currently a trainee solicitor. I am in my second seat in the Dispute Resolution team where I assist fee earners with Property litigation matters, planning law, employment and trust disputes. My first seat was in the Corporate and Commercial Department where I assisted with various matters including property and corporate finance and debt listing.

What I like most

I like the quality of the work and staff.
