I didn't know what I wanted to do when I graduated but found my way to my dream job.

I work for myself so I go from project to project.
What do you do?
Costume Designer mainly for independent Film and TV
Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?
While at uni I worked on as many productions as I could.
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
I didn't know what I wanted to do when I graduated but found my way to my dream job.
Describe your most memorable day at work
Everyday on set is pretty mad, you get to see cool places and work with interesting people
Are there any challenges associated with your job?
You never know what tomorrow might bring so you just have to be ready for anything.
What’s your work environment and culture like?
Really fun, I rarely have a day when I don't laugh.
What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
Doing costumes for all the societies really set me up for my career.
What would you like to do next with your career?
Just keep making better and better movies.
What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?
Focus on what you want to get out of life and what makes you happy and try and mold a career around that.
