Freelance singer, specialising in contemporary and early music. Solos, operas, and ensemble work in the UK, Germany, Austria, France, and Norway.

Describe your most memorable day at work

Any day where I stick to my process and work hard is a good day at work. Every day is different, the challenge is solving problems and working with the different needs of others while also staying connected to my own work and needs.

Are there any challenges associated with your job?

Managing people’s needs, consistently working at a high level no matter how one feels, and the difficulty of grounding and balance while working away from home.

What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?

Dance classes at Yorkshire Dance in Leeds, movement improvisation workshops in Leeds, choral scholar at Leeds Cathedral.

What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?

Be flexible in your career, but firm in knowing your priorities. That’s not to say your priorities won’t change: check in with yourself from time to time, so you know what’s important to you as an artist/human being. But know them well, so you can be true to them.
