My advice to students considering work
Clock up all the experience you can whilst at uni and nurture relationships and contacts.
What I do
I work in a team of string tutors teaching instrumental lessons in primary school.I am involved in developing a social action music project aiming to raise levels of achievement and expectation in a deprived community.
Skills I use and how I developed them
Extracurricular skills:
Team work, leadership, communication. Lesson planning and preparation. Musical performance.
What I like most
Working in a super team; making a tangible difference to the community; opportunity to inspire and encourage young people.
What I like least
I don't enjoy the commute!
