Daniel finished their MChem in Chemistry, the Atmosphere and the Environment at the University of York in 2021; then followed by an internship with YorRobots at the BioArch working on laboratory automation using an Opentrons OT2 liquid handling robot. His interests are environmental sensing and programming, having designed and built the ISA Battery Database.
Months later he joined ISA as a Robotics/Electronics Technician assisting in CoSHH, Departmental Computing Office (DCO) and drone (UAS) activities. He became appointed the Institute Drone Safety Adviser not long after, ensuring that drones are flown safely and responsibly at the Institute. He also undertakes drone flights for others around the university, employing the various capabilities of the ISA drone fleet for scientific or promotional work.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys reading, cycling, playing a variety of games and martial arts (having practiced Kendo for many years now).
