General Data Protection Regulation

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018 and will replace the UK's Data Protection Act, 1998.

The University is currently in the process of preparing for GDPR implementation and will use this site to publish guidance, procedure and policy to assist colleagues in GDPR preparations.

Since launching this microsite, the Government has confirmed that the GDPR will be brought into UK law as part of a Data Protection Bill. We are awaiting publiction of the draft bill and will publish updated guidance here as soon as it is available. In the meantime, GDPR preparation goes on as planned and the resources on this site will be updated regularly.
