Language comprehension in Wernicke’s aphasia: What’s gone wrong? (and can we fix it?)

Tuesday 14 November 2023, 4.00PM to 5.00pm

Speaker(s): Dr Holly Robson, UCL

Abstract: Wernicke’s aphasia is synonymous with language comprehension impairments, yet many questions remain about the condition. In this talk, I will explore the neurobiology of Wernicke’s aphasia and the cognitive contributions underlying the language comprehension impairment. I will ask whether our current interventions have treatment specificity and whether we can leverage neural mechanism to enhance their potency.
