Psychology at York ranks =65th in Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject, 2025

We have been ranked 65th for psychology in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subject. The ranking recognises the quality of our courses, and the experiences and opportunities they provide to our students.

Our Head of Department, Lisa Henderson said: “We are absolutely delighted with this result. It is a testament to the firm commitment of our whole staff body to deliver international excellence in both our teaching and our research.”

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject are published annually to help students choose a university course. It ranks universities by subject area in metrics including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international outlook.

York’s overall position

York has been ranked in the top 150 for seven subjects in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
