Gary did his PhD at the University of Edinburgh and has previouslybeen Sage Junior Fellow at the Sage Centre for the Study of the Mind, in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, University of California, Santa Barbara and a lecturer in the division of Psychology at the University of Stirling.
His research lies at the interface between genetics and human social behaviour - to what extent do complex social behaviours such as altruism, social attitudes, even political beliefs depend on genetic factors? He uses a wide range of methods including behavioural genetics, experimental psychology and brain imaging to investigate such questions."
