K M Stott Prize 2009/10

Posted on 16 November 2010

We are delighted to announce that this year's winners of the KM Stott PhD Prize are Rosie Lovett (supervisor Quentin Summerfield) and Jakke Tamminen (supervisor Gareth Gaskell).

Rosie's research on 'spatial listening' in deaf children has won several prizes and was used by NICE to guide policy on cochlear implantation.  Following her PhD, she won a three year fellowship to work at the Ear Institute at UCL.

Jakke's thesis on new word learning and the effects of sleep has led to some excellent papers, including one in Journal of Neuroscience. He currently holds an ESRC postdoctoral fellowship at Manchester.

Many congratulations to Jakke and Rosie!
