Title of Research:

Brick-by-Brick Integration: The Effect of Multi-Level Governance on Refugee Housing and Integration in Germany

Brief overview of research topic:

My project focused on how refugee housing policy in Berlin and Leverkusen were structured to deliver refugee integration services. Utilising a frame of multi-level governance, the research found that the Leverkusen Model operated as one of best practice through its collaborative governance structure and implementation methods with third-sector organisations and civil society. The research also reflected on the practice side of theories surrounding integration, weaving together disparate strands of acculturation theory, transnationalism theory, and others, to create an ideal governance framework for refugee housing policy.

I passed my viva voce in August.
