Congratulations to PhD candidate Kate Long who has published her first academic article.
Titled "The politics of mini-publics: How organisers justify local climate mini-publics in the United Kingdom", the paper appears in the journal The British Journal of Politics and International Relations
Kate says "This article analyses a new database of 61 UK climate mini-publics in the UK to understand how organisers frame them, and what it says about the political dynamics behind them. I find that climate mini-publics are justified as non-political, urgent and solution-driven, designed to secure public buy-in. Organisers however have to balance urgency with deliberation, neutrality with politics, and optimism with reality, showing the complexities of public participation."
Well done Kate!
