POLSOC Cheese and Wine Evening

Tuesday 13 October 2020, 6.00PM to 8:00 PM

Speaker(s): Professor Nina Caspersen

Professor Nina Caspersen is an expert on unrecognised states in the Caucasus such as Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Nagorno-Karabakh. She has kindly volunteered to discuss the resurgence in violence between Armenia and Azerbaijan within Nagorno-Karabakh.
POLSOC are honoured to have such an important guest for their first Cheese and Wine Night.

Cheese and Wine is a staple of PolSoc and their chief departmental event, where they invite academics and research students to discuss either their work or a relevant current issue. Last year POLSOC had excellent talks by many academics, amongst them Dr. Sara de Jong who discussed the rights of interpreters, Dr. Indrajit Roy who discussed the National Citizenship Amendment Act and the protests against that in India, and Dr. Pavlos Vasilopoulos who explored the effect of Coronavirus on public opinion.
