British Sky Broadcasting Group plc (BSKYB) is the largest pay-TV broadcaster in the UK, with over 11 million subscribers and a market value of approximately £11.47 billion. The company also offers broadband and telephone services. York alumnus David Wheeldon is BSkyB’s Director of Policy and Public Affairs. He looks after public policy and industry relations across all of Sky’s business areas including its TV channels, satellite platform, home communications products and mobile services.David will speak about his work at SKY, covering many of the contemporary issues being discussed in the media, including phone hacking, platforms, licensing and the prospects for commercial television. There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
