Supervision

Each research student will have a minimum of eight formal meetings with their supervisor each year. Skills Forge lists milestones, including formal supervision meetings, with target dates by which these should be completed. It is the responsibility of the student and the supervisor(s) to record these meetings in Skills Forge.

Please refer to the PGR Handbook for further information.

Thesis Advisory Panel (TAP) meetings

Each research student will have a thesis advisory panel (TAP) who review their progress and graduate professional development throughout their research programme. Full-time research students meet with their TAP twice per year (once every six months) and part-time research students meet with their TAP once per year. At the meeting, the members of the TAP, along with the supervisor, will provide the student with advice and guidance in relations to their research.

Skills Forge lists deadlines for TAP meetings to be held. It is the student's responsibility, along with the TAP members, to arrange meetings according to this schedule. The student and the TAP will document their meeting on Skills Forge (meeting prep report and meeting report), and on the paper Review of Supervision (MS Word , 15kb) report.

Please refer to the PGR Handbook for further information.
