Conference Ventana

CModS Research Strand Funding was used to finance an international conference called Ventana, focused on decolonial studies. Last year was the fifth edition and we were able to invite 5 keynote speakers to discuss topics related to decolonial studies, especially regarding the uncomfortable contradictions of studying decolonisation, which was the focus and theme of the conference in 2023. During the three days of the conference, we had 6 roundtables and 3 workshops, apart from the 5 international keynote speakers (Dr Indrajit Roy, Dra Julia Sachseder, Dra Catherine Walsh, Dra Laura Loyola-Hernández and Dra Márgara Millán). The budget was fundamental to ensure the coffee breaks (which we know are very important in conferences), printing materials like banners, programs and credentials and transportation tickets for the team and speakers.
