Spectres Haunting ... Postcommunism and Postcolonialism

Professor Lazarus is a leading figure in Postcolonial Studies, and has written and edited field defining works, including:

Resistance in Postcolonial African Fiction (Yale, 1990)
Nationalism and Cultural Practice in the Postcolonial World (CUP, 1999)
Marxism, Modernity and Postcolonial Studies (CUP, 2002)
Cambridge Companion to Postcolonial Literary Studies (CUP, 2004). 

His most recent monograph is entitled The Postcolonial Unconscious and was published by Cambridge University Press in 2011.

This is an event not to be missed for anyone interested in debates about postcolonialism, world literature and/or world politics.

The lecture will be preceded by a wine reception at 5.15pm, to which all are warmly invited.
