Land, Labour & African Literature

Monday 16 February 2015, 6.00PM

Speaker(s): Dr James Graham (Middlesex) and Dr Madhu Krishnan (Bristol)

Resistant Resources lecture series

This event will offer two complimentary papers:

  • Dr James Graham (Middlesex) 'Resource Complexity in Southern Africa Literatures: Land, Labour, Affect'?
  • Dr Madhu Krishnan (Bristol)  'Writing the Post-Nation? Land and Labour as Resources in 21st Century Zimbabwean Fiction'

This pair of papers from dynamic and exciting speakers will help us rethink land and labour in Southern African fiction. They will be of interest to anyone working on global or world literature and culture, postcolonial studies, African literature and culture, land and labour, and/or issues of affect. Both speakers are coming to York because of postgraduate interest in their work. Don't miss them.
