Lapse: A Quiet History of Time

A writer's attempt to take the origins of the universe as a subject for poetry

 
Melanie Challenger is a writer of poetry and prose. She is the author of Galatea, a sequence of poems shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, and On Extinction, a work of non-fiction. She is currently researching a second book of non-fiction and writing the libretto for Mark Simpson's opera Pleasure under the Jerwood Opera Scheme. She was an associate artist at Cambridge University's Institute of Astronomy in 2009 and again in 2012-13.
