Theatres of War: Status, Power, and Performance on the Eastern Crusading Frontier

Prof. Nicholas Paul (Director of the Centre for Medieval Studies, Fordham University) will give a special lecture on his project "Theaters of War," about the use of the crusading frontier as a stage for aristocratic cultural performance.

Profs. Paul, Elizabeth Tyler (York), and W. Mark Ormrod (York, emeritus) will also discuss the recently published volume Whose Middle Ages: Teachable Moments for an Ill-Used Past, to which they have contributed and which Nicholas Paul has co-edited.
