Cervical sample taker update training

Sessions are being planned for registered healthcare professionals experienced and qualified in cervical sample taking across the Vale of York, North Yorkshire and the Humber.

All sample takers should undertake an update every three years. This half day course provides an overview of the National Health Service Cervical Screening Programme (NHSCSP), quality assurance and risk management issues. It fulfils the requirements stipulated by the NHSCSP.

Course content includes:

  • National cervical screening programme
  • e-learning and localisation training
  • review of local incidents
  • local pathway overview, with Public Health England, cytology laboratory, Primary Care Support Services ,colposcopy clinic and Cervical Mentor updates
  • cervical sample taker database and performance
  • reducing Inequalities and improving uptake in screening.

Entry requirements 

  • Confirmation of support from your line manager is required.
  • One e-learning module will need to be completed prior to attendance. A link will be sent via email once you have booked your place.
