Biography

Since joining HYMS/Health Sciences in 2006, Victoria's main responsibility is to lead the HYMS Statistical Consultancy Service. This entails providing statistical support to NHS researchers in North and East Yorkshire and in Northern Lincolnshire. The service offers comprehensive advice on statistical matters, including designing a study, calculating a sample size, managing data, analysing, interpreting and presenting data, using statistical packages, and publishing results.

Victoria is funded on various research projects, acting as the study statistician. In addition, she works with the Research Design Service as an advisor for researchers developing applications for NIHR funding streams.

  • On the Athena Swan committee in HYMS - Developing a submission for Nov 2013.
  • Standard setting and marking papers for HYMS.
  • Assisting with short listing and interviewing HYMS potential students, and exam invigilation.
  • Member of the Centre for Health and Population Sciences (CHaPS)

Undergraduate

  • Also reviews for UK funding bodies including the HTA, National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative (NAEDI), NICE, and MRC.
