Biography

Mohamed is a committed Trial Coordinator with a background in clinical pharmacy and public health. He previously worked as an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist in Egypt. Later, he joined Cancer Research UK's Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) as a Trial Administrator, demonstrating his dedication to clinical trials. Driven by a passion for patient-cantered approaches and the potential of research to improve healthcare, Mohamed joined York Trials Unit in 2024 as a Trial Coordinator, where he is committed to making a significant contribution to the field of health research.

Research

Overview

Mohamed's research focuses on various public health issues, including health promotion, chronic diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, and personalised medicine. He is passionate about finding innovative solutions to improve healthcare outcomes and address key public health challenges.

  • EXTEND – An RCT determining the effectiveness of longer antibiotic courses in improving intra-abdominal infection patient outcomes
  • moreRESPECT - An RCT to investigate whether an intervention designed to promote sexual health for people with severe mental illness is clinically and cost effective.
