Profile

Biography

Lucy is a Trial Coordinator at YTU previously working as a Trial Support Officer since joining the unit in October 2021. Her background is in archaeology. Lucy is a York Uni alumnus where she studied a Masters in Bioarchaeology. Lucy previously worked as an archaeologist before leaving to pursue a career in health science research.

Projects

  • OPAL2 - A multi-centre RCT comparing the OPAL occupational support programme with usual care on the time to return-to-work in patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery.
  • RESTART PD - A multicentre, two-arm, non-blinded, pragmatic, parallel group, randomised controlled superiority trial with the aim of assessing the clinical and cost effectiveness of Reality DTx®compared with traditional physiotherapy for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.

Previous Projects

  • DIAMONDS - An RCT of the DIAMONDS Programme investigating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of the DIAMONDS intervention (diabetes self-management programme) for people with severe mental illnesses (SMI) and type 2 diabetes. 
  • MODS – A programme aiming to develop and evaluate an intervention to improve physical and psychological functioning in older adults with long-term physical health conditions and low mood or depression
