Profile

Biography

Kamran has a medical background with further training in chest diseases and public health. His research is on non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries with a focus on tobacco control. He has expertise in developing and evaluating public health interventions and carries out pragmatic randomized controlled trials. He also applies implementation science in evaluating simple, efficacious and scalable interventions. He is the joint director of NIHR Global Health Centre for IMPACT which aims to strengthen research capacity in non-communicable diseases Afghanistan and Pakistan.
