Biography

Dr Sumeet Gupta is a Consultant Psychiatrist (General Adult) with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. He is Associate Clinical Director (Research of Development) and is primarily responsible for running commercial studies of clinical trials of investigational medicinal products. He completed his medical training in India and has been working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in NHS since 2005. Between 2009 -2012 he also worked as a consultant with the trust’s specialist affective disorder services.

• MD (Psychiatry)- Post Graduate institute of Medical Sciences, Chandigarh (India)

• Diploma in Clinical Trials (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine)

Overview

Sumeet's research interests include clinical trials of investigational medicinal products, adverse effects of psychotropic drugs, pharmacoepidemiology and physical health problems of patients with severe mental illnesses.
