Biography

Claudia qualified as a Children’s Nurse from the University of York in 2018. Since qualifying, she has worked within the Children’s Ward and Assessment Unit at York Hospital, developing extensive clinical experience within paediatric nursing. In March 2022, she progressed to the role of Deputy Sister, where she developed valuable leadership and management skills alongside continuing to enhance her clinical knowledge and expertise.

In January 2024, Claudia was appointed as a Clinical Teaching Fellow for Child Nursing at the University of York, a partnership role between the University and York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a new role within paediatrics, the position was established to strengthen the partnership between the University and the Trust, supporting students to integrate their academic learning with clinical practice.

Within the University, Claudia's role includes lecturing, leading field-specific seminars and supporting students within the academic environment. In clinical practice, she supports students throughout their placements through drop-in sessions, bite-sized skills teaching and clinical education. This unique partnership role enables her to draw on her clinical experience to enhance students' academic and clinical learning, while continuing to develop her own practice as a nurse educator.
