Biography

Cathy qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2000 and worked in Intensive Care, becoming a Sister at Royal Derby Hospitals in 2005. She then moved into a Resuscitation/Clinical Skills training role, developing an interest in Simulation for teaching. 

In more recent years Cathy has been an Inpatient Diabetes Nurse Specialist at York Hospitals NHS Trust.  Following completion of the V300 Non-Medical Prescriber qualification she initiated Quality Improvement projects into Insulin safety and reducing risks associated with hypoglycaemia in the hospital setting. She undertook training with the Improvement Academy and led the Diabetes/Endocrine Clinical Governance group.
