York's department of Health Sciences placed in UK top ten by Guardian University Guide 2023

This week our Department confirmed its place among the UK's most highly regarded departments for the subjects of Midwifery and General Nursing. Our Department is ranked 4th in the UK for Midwifery and 8th in the UK for General Nursing in the Guardian University Guide 2023.

Published annually, the Guardian University Guide is aimed specifically at students choosing a university course. It ranks UK universities by undergraduate degree subjects in metrics such as student satisfaction, continuation, spend per student and graduate outcomes.

The rankings are based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the National Student Survey.

In total, six subjects at the University were ranked in the UK top 10: Biology (7th), Film Production and Photography (5th), General Nursing (8th), History of Art (10th), Midwifery (4th) and Psychology (8th).
