Student careers fair

Posted on 17 March 2015

Nursing and midwifery students met potential employers at an inaugural careers fair held at the Department of Health Sciences.

Some 100 students visited the fair and discussed opportunities open to them post graduation with over 20 regional and national employers including hospital trusts, hospices and private healthcare providers.

Rob Allison, lead for the pre-registration nursing programme, said: "Initial feedback was very positive from both our students and partner organisations and many students were able to agree interview dates with York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

"We plan to run this event annually and work closely with our regional partners to identify ways to develop closer links with our students at an early stage of our nursing programme."
