Biography
Omara is an Associate Professor at the University, working across both research and teaching. A medical doctor by background, she holds an MPH in Epidemiology and a PhD in Health Sciences, where her doctoral research developed and evaluated a novel intervention fidelity index to quantify behavioural intervention delivery. She has a sustained record of research leadership at the intersection of behavioural science and public health, alongside a commitment to delivering high-quality education and academic leadership.
Omara's research advances behaviour change initiatives for priority groups in the UK and internationally. Her core expertise lies in applying behavioural and implementation science to develop/adapt/optimise complex interventions, health workforce practice, and person-centred care delivery.

Research
Overview
Drawing on over 15 years of experience designing and evaluating health behaviour change interventions across Southeast Asia and the UK, Omara's current focus is on the quality of frontline interactions, specifically addressing patient communication and relational dynamics to drive patient engagement and clinical outcomes.
Her areas of research interest and methodological expertise:

- Quantitative methods, including analysis of large datasets
- Systematic reviews and meta-analysis
- Complex intervention development and effectiveness evaluation through randomised controlled trials or quasi-experimental design
