Profile

Biography

Nicola’s research focuses on the impact of food systems on public health outcomes, with a particular interest in food quality and child nutrition. Her PhD looked at the impact of the public sector procurement of school food on the quality of food served to children. She spent the last 4 years working on the groundbreaking multidisciplinary FixOurFood programme providing evidence for a more equal, healthier nation in conjunction with regenerating our natural environment. She has been directly involved in school food transformation as Chair of Governors at a Yorkshire primary school and through policy work with several government departments.  

Nicola has 30 years of experience in senior and executive roles in domestic and international, industry leading, businesses working collaboratively with boards and committees from both the public and private sector. She specialises in risk management, transformational change and restructure, and has extensive experience of using strategic policy and effective monitoring and evaluation to define and drive change.
