Profile

Biography

Jodi joined the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group (MHARG) in 2011. Prior to this she worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in a primary care mental health team.

Jodi has contributed to a diverse portfolio of health research studies focused on psychological interventions to improve mental health, wellbeing, and public health outcomes across the lifespan. More recently, her research has focused on how mental and physical health can be improved through engagement with nature and interaction with the environment.

Jodi is currently working in the York Trials Unit as a Trial Coordinator

Research

Overview

Jodi's research interests are:

• Mixed- methods research focusing on interventions for the identification, prevention and management of mental health problems.
• The impact of engagement with nature and the environment on mental health.
• Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE)

Projects

• DIDACT - Multi-centre randomised controlled trial to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of surgery compared with sling immobilisation in the management of adults with radiological diagnosis of a displaced fracture of the distal clavicle that does not involve the acromioclavicular joint.

   

• RAPSODI - An RCT assessing whether reverse total shoulder replacement is superior to an anatomical total shoulder replacement for the treatment of painful osteoarthritis of the shoulder joint in patients over 60 years old.
