Profile

Biography

Eve is an epidemiologist with a longstanding interest in study design and exploitation of routinely collected health data for research purposes. Initiating and collaborating on several large national and international studies investigating the potential adverse health effects of a wide range of biological, chemical and physical exposures, she previously worked at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), University of Oxford, and University of Leeds.

With a primary focus on childhood cancers and blood cancers (leukaemias, lymphomas, and myeloma), Eve was the first director of York’s  Epidemiology and Cancer Statistics Group (ECSG), and a founding member of the Haematological Malignancy Research Network (HMRN). At the forefront of blood cancer research, HMRN’s unique population- based cohorts provide contemporary high-quality data to inform clinicians, researchers, patients and the public about the diagnosis and management of blood cancers in a “real-world” setting. Core funded by Cancer Research UK, HMRN is a key component of York’s Centre for Blood Research (CBR) and its related initiatives, including the Leeds Biomedical Research Centre.
