AHRC grant awarded for Conversion narratives in Early Modern Europe

Helen Smith (English) and Simon Ditchfield (History) have just been awarded £457,645 to direct the three-year project: Conversion narratives in Early Modern Europe: a cross-confessional and comparative study, 1550-1700.

Two full-time post-doctoral research fellows, Dr Peter Mazur and Dr Abigail Shinn, who will be based in the Centre for Renaissance and Early Modern Studies in the Humanities Research Centre, will be joining Helen and Simon on 1 September 2010 to work, respectively, on Italian and on English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish material.

Amongst the outputs will be two monographs; two international conferences, an interactive website and a museum exhibition on the material culture of conversion.
