Screenplays and soirees

Posted on 30 April 2018

First year English/History student, Danielle Olowe, recently completed a four-day internship at Milton Manor House.

This elegant eighteenth-century house was in need of someone with excellent filing skills and a taste for variety. During her internship, Danielle catalogued papers on behalf of the house's owner, Anthony Mockler-Barrett, including manuscripts for Mockler-Barrett's screenplays, documents regarding former tenants at the house, and records of events held at the manor. Perhaps Danielle's favourite aspect of the placement was spending time in the house's impressive Gothic library.

As part of our commitment to helping students to pursue their dream careers, we make a good range of internships available to our students each year, including thorugh the department and through the University of York's Student Internship Bureau.
