Profile

Biography

Laia is a PhD Student in Economics based in the Department of Economics and Related Studies (DERS) at the University of York. Her main research interests are in the field of Applied Microeconometrics with emphasis on Health Economics and Public Policy Evaluation. Her current work focuses on the economic analysis of hospitals and the effect of education policies on health outcomes.

Laia holds a BSc in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and an MSc in Economics awarded by Barcelona School of Economics (BSE). During her last year studying the BSc in Economics, Laia worked as a research assistant at UPF. She is also the organiser of the Research Student Workshop at the DERS and the coordinator of the Spanish Health Economics Association Early Careers group (AESEC).
