York English academic helps bring seventeenth-century writer and polymath into the spotlight

Professor Kevin Killeen has appeared on the BBC's In Our Time, presented by Melvin Bragg, describing the remarkable career and inventive writings of the seventeenth-century polymath Sir Thomas Browne.

Appearing with Kevin were Professors Claire Preston (Queen Mary) and Jessica Wolfe (North Carolina), who are co-editors of an eight-volume Oxford Edition of Sir Thomas Browne, bringing Browne's voluminous, learned and entertaining works to new audiences. 

Kevin has previously edited a selection of Browne's writings in Oxford University Press's prestigious 21st-Century Oxford Authors series.
