CREMS welcomes Visiting Fulbright Professor

CREMS is delighted to welcome Professor Carole Levin as a Visiting Fulbright Fellow for the spring and summer terms.

Carole is Willa Cather Professor of History and Director of the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program at the University of Nebraska. She has published many books on politics and culture in the English Renaissance including The Heart and Stomach of a King: Elizabeth I and the Politics of Sex and PowerThe Reign of Elizabeth I, and Dreaming the English Renaissance: Politics and Desire in Court and Culture. Carole has held fellowships at the Newberry Library in Chicago and the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC.

During her time in York, Carole is looking forward to pursuing her research in the University's Humanities Research Centre, and in local libraries and archives which offer some previously unexplored materials relating to Carole's current projects. Carole will be delivering a research seminar, a postgraduate jobs workshop, and a public lecture - as well as collaborating in the staging of her dramatic Tudor Trilogy! We look forward to working with her over the coming months.
